I’m a private tutor based in Agoura Hills with 15 years of experience in education. I work exclusively with elementary students, kindergarten through 6th grade, in reading, writing and math. I spent my classroom years teaching elementary grades and also worked as a Reading Intervention Teacher.
My specialty is helping children who struggle with reading and writing, including students with dyslexia. As an Orton-Gillingham certified teacher, I use structured, multisensory methods that make reading click. My background also includes outdoor education, home-hospital instruction and five years developing science programs for elementary students.
Most of all, I want every child to leave our sessions feeling confident and proud of what they can do.

Reading Intervention

Frequently Asked Questions
What grades do you work with?
I tutor kindergarten through 6th grade only, in reading, writing and math. Elementary school is where I have the deepest experience and where early help makes the biggest difference.
What is Orton-Gillingham?
A structured, multisensory way of teaching reading that explicitly teaches how sounds and letters connect. It was developed for students with dyslexia and helps any child who struggles to read. Learn more about dyslexia tutoring.
Do you work with students with dyslexia?
Yes. It’s a core part of my work. I’m Orton-Gillingham certified and have extensive experience supporting elementary students (K–6) with dyslexia.
How much does tutoring cost?
I have two set rates for 60-minute, one-on-one sessions: $75/hour for homework help and general tutoring, and $100/hour for reading intervention, where I build custom Orton-Gillingham lesson plans for your child. Rates are the same for every family, and I’ll let you know which one fits your child before the first session.
Where do sessions happen?
In your home or at a local library. Scheduling is flexible.
Can you work with my child's school, IEP or 504 plan?
Yes. Share homework, report cards or teacher notes and I’ll build sessions around what your child needs.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are charged in full. If your child is sick, let me know as soon as you can and we’ll find a make-up time.
